RRC Member Jenny Duffin and Digby
Winners of the 2013 T.E.N. Supplements/Horse and Hound Virtual Horse Show Champion
The 10-year-old 16.1hh British sport horse won the working hunter class and got the highest number of reader votes in the final judging to become the 2013 champion. Jenny Duffin was amazed when she got the good news.
“I was really pleased, especially for my daughter Zoe, as she encouraged me to enter in the first place,” Jenny told H&H. “After entering I hadn't really thought about it, as I assumed we weren't going to win. But when we got the email saying we had made it through to the championship, my competitive side came out and everyone rallied round to help gather votes.”
When Digby isn't winning virtual horse shows, he turns his hoof to most disciplines. He has competed in riding club one-day events, showjumping and dressage, as well as enjoying the odd day hunting during the winter, picking up lots of admirers along the way.
“I don’t have a menage so Digby does a lot of schooling in a cows field under a motorway bridge next to a supermarket,” explains Jenny. “He’s a very special horse and has a home for life. Appearing in Horse & Hound has always been an ambition, but I never thought it would happen. The virtual horse show has been a brilliant competition for a true amateur like me.”
Jenny wins a year’s supply of a T.E.N. supplement of her choice, a T.E.N.-branded white GP saddle cloth, a T.E.N. rosette and sash. Congratulations from Rutland Riding Club!
Congratulations to RRC members Pam Sellers and Sue Scott who qualified for the Pet Plan Area Festival at Sheepgate. Pam came 3rd in the Novice 38 riding Felix and Sue came 8th in the Novice 38 and achieved a red ribbon in the Novice 22 riding Myles. Lovely to hear of your success!
