Abandonment of October Dressage

After much deliberation, and forecast consultation, we took the decision to run the dressage competition yesterday, October 31st . It was our first competition for over 18 months due to Covid 19.

However, the weather did it's worst about 10.45 when a sudden ferocious wind blew the arena boards and letters around like skittles . We had to abandon the event for safety reasons and thankfully there were no injuries among horses or riders. Today's experiences will help us make decisions about cancelling or running next time.

Thank you to everyone who supported today's event by entering and those who helped Sue running it.We will be offering a refund of entry fees or a transfer of fees to a future competition. The next one is Sunday 21st Nov and the schedule will be the same. Please let us know which you would prefer asap either via Facebook message or to 07753478077 .

Change to BRC Flu Vac Rules - Sept 2021

“As part of the BHS, horse welfare is obviously paramount, however in the current climate the risk of a flu outbreak is at this time minimal.

BRC are therefore comfortable to remove the requirement of a vaccination within 6 months and 21 days of a qualifier or championship. This will be with immediate effect, however we will continue to strongly recommend a 6 month vaccination when attending BRC qualifiers and championships and maintaining good biosecurity protocols.

In order to compete in a BRC qualifier and/or championships the annual vaccinations (12 month) and initial course must be correct as per G7 of the Handbook.

BRC reserve the right to amend these vaccination rules should another outbreak occur”.
