A few lucky BHS Gold members are being offered the opportunity to be a part of an exciting long weekend to improve their riding and horse knowledge, while at the same time gaining an insight into military life at the Defence Animal Centre at Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire.  

The Equine Training Squadron provides training to all the Services. Equitation is one of the best supported sports and the School provides a central place of excellence to deliver training and competition whilst maintaining tradition.

We are privileged that the BHS has been given the opportunity to use these unique and impressive facilities for a specific training camp, especially as neither the BHS nor the DAC are aware that a joint venture of this type has taken place before.  

It will be aimed at the serious amateur or professional rider working to improve their riding and horse knowledge, the competitive rider or those working through their BHS qualifications. You will receive top quality tuition in flatwork, gridwork, dressage, show jumping and cross-country schooling which will be delivered by our professional BHS Registered Instructors and qualified Army Instructors.
