Area 16 and Championships

AREA EVENTING 22ND JUNE

We have a winner!!  Our new member Grace Morton and Vienna jumped a double clear around their first ever ODE to come home in 1st 🥇 place.  Grace was the only person also who didn’t have any penalties xc in the 70, so a massive well done.
Claire and Nic also had a good test with Claire jumping a good solid clear sj and a few green moments xc and Nic had an educational round but enjoyed it.
Our 80 team came 4th
All 4 riders produced some great tests with Charlotte jumping a great double clear and placing 4th individually and giving her young horse lots of confidence.  Both Kerry and Sophie riding some super xc to both jump clear round quite a spooky track.  Melissa decided to retire towards the end of the course as Smurf wasn’t feeling the love for the course and was seeing dragons everywhere.  Again well done to you all.
Our only junior representative was Merry who did a much improved test and showjumping.  But picked up a few green moments xc .  Again giving her young pony the ride of his life round quite a challenging track.
My biggest mention goes to Jordan who pulled off a pb in the dressage of a 26.8 !!!!
She then went on to jump an amazing clear sj and take the lead but sadly lost a shoe and no farrier on call so sadly couldn’t run xc.  Most people would have ran xc without a shoe but Jordan put her horse first and popped him away and saved him for another day.  Feeling completely annoyed she waited until the end of the day and supported the other riders and celebrated their results.
Jordan you are a legend and this is what it’s all about!!! 🤩🤩🤩. You are our winner 🏆

COMBINED TRAINING AND COMBINED CHALLENGE 3RD MAY 2025

Another great performance from Rutland Riding Club.

Firstly thanks to Susie, Alice, Nic and Rosemary for coming up to help and support on the day as without key volunteers the club can not compete.  Also thanks to charlotte, Karen, Gayle, Laura, Sarah, Rosalind and Charlotte for your stint in the arena pole picking.
What was really great was the team spirit and camaraderie between all our members.  Everyone was supporting and cheering each other on which made for some great results.

A special mention to Annnabel who came up for the 100 but Splash was not happy in the going in the arena.  It was quite deep after everyone had jumped which made the fences even bigger!!
A tough call to retire but completely the right decision.

What a super, fun filled day .  Thank you to BRC Area 16 for organising and other volunteers to keep these things running.
